Lake Powell 2009

This year we had a blast again with 10 other couples for 5 days at Lake Powell. Bill was forbidden to do any cliff diving (he dislocated his shoulder last year) and fun was had by all!

Hiking in Alpine, Utah

Robbie and Bill headed to nearby Horse Tail Falls in Alpine. This hike is about 10 mins. from our home. Beautiful hike and a lot easier for the lighter and more fit Robbie!

Summer Tennis League, 09

This is Jeff Brodie and I at the end of our Summer Tennis 4.0 Tennis League. Once again, our team (3 doubles and 2 singles), won for the State of Utah, (3 of the past 5 years). Unfortunately, once again we lost at the Sectionals, (players of the Intermountain Region consist of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Nevada and Colorado).

So, this is Jeff and I after our doubles win on Sat. the 22nd of August. It was a lot of fun overall, but no Nationals again.

New slate fireplace

Although it is clearly not finished, we are excited about the progress thus far. Matty is the leader of the project, (he and Robbie fight over creative ideas), and Bill and Chris are the token grunt members of the team.

We'll update it when it's all done...then on to the floor!

Sports adventures and San Diego

Recent sporting adventures: Tennis: Local Utah tourney...made it to the quarterfinals in singles, and to the semis in doubles (3rd set bummer loss). Our League team plays for the District Utah playoffs next week...which if we win gets us to Sectionals (Intermountain region) then if successful to Nationals in Vegas in October...

Surfing: The only time that I actually stood up was next to the board on land...but still Robbie and I had a great time in San Diego...(note the happy faces on Robbie's brother Terry's boat on the 4th of July).

Spudman triathlon in Burley, ID!

Yep, Bill did his second Spudman-Note the pre-swim happy face, the swim line up of about 250 per wave, the happy face after the race, and the blood from a bike fall and a toe scrape in the swim.

My time was marginally better than the previous one...same in the mile swim, same in the bike, slow in one transition (couldn't get the dang wet suit off), and better in the run!

Good times, and good to have it over with!
