True story:
Robbie is in California for the 4th with her parents. She gets a phone call from an 801 area code number, and a man says that he is Officer F. (we'll not use his full name as we don't want to get Robbie into any more trouble) from the Springville, Utah police.
He stated that they have been trying to deliver a subpoena for an assault charge on her daughter's boyfriend.
Robbie thinks that it's a prank, and basically blows the guy off even when he tells her that the court date is July 8th.
She calls us asking who did the prank. We know nothing about it, and ask for the number of the supposed Officer. She gives it to us. Carrie calls first and gets a guy who says that he's Officer F. She hangs up.
Juan then calls and gets the same guy...Juan explains that his mother in law is a bit freaked out and asks what the story is.
Evidently, it is a real police officer. He had called Robbie and asked 3x if she was Sheila. Robbie must not have heard that part, because she never denied it or commented on it.
So...we'll see if Robbie a.k.a. 'Sheila' has to go to court now or not!
(Moral of the story...listen carefully on your phone if the guy says he's a officer!)

classic... there are so many times i've wondered whether mom is listening when i call her. now i know.
this is funny to me. mostly because i didn't find it hard to believe that one of your kids would pull this kind of prank. also, if Robbie ends up with a subpoena at some point in time, i may not find it hard to believe either. hahaha! i hope i am as fun as her when i am a grandma.
